 he Decoto Arch was the first public/private partnership art project under Union City, California's new public art program. Fabricated from stainless and cor-ten steel columns with a cast concrete base the archways form a dramatic entrance to W.P. Investments' Decoto Business Park. Artist Glen Rogers worked with students from nearby James Logan High School to create colorful mosaic symbols that are imbedded into the base. The contrast between the formal steel columns and the more organic nature of the hand-made mosaics reflects the successful collaboration between business and community.
