t Luther Burbank School in San Jose, "Myths and Fairytales" creates an engaging presence for the school in the community. This playful and engaging art fence reflects the spirit of the children who go there. The collaborative project, funded by the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, was designed by BGD and Glen Rogers, with input from students and teachers, and fabricated by Lizard Skin Studios and Brian's Welding.
While students were invited to do drawings of favorite childhood stories, Rogers composed each panel by weaving the student work with plant life. The finished work, translated into water-jet cut steel, continues to inspire students and passers by with life lessons.
